In the IV quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of previous year the volume of business sector turnover increased by 2.1 percent and amounted to 32.0 billion GEL. The production value of the business sector is characterized by the decreasing tendency. In the IV quarter of 2020, its volume equaled to 12.4 billion GEL, which is year-on-year 7.3 percent less.
In the IV quarter of 2020, 60.9 percent of total turnover comes on large and 17.1 percent – on medium businesses while 22.0 percent is distributed to small business. A small difference is in case of total production value: 40.6 percent comes on large, 27.8 percent – on medium and 31.7 percent on small businesses.
In IV quarter of 2020, total purchases of goods and services carried out by enterprises equaled to 18.0 billion GEL (year-on-year 6.6 percent less), while the purchase goods and services for resale amounted 11.0 billion GEL (year-on-year 6.0 percent Less). In the IV quarter of 2020, the average number of employees equaled to 641.6 thousand, which is year-on-year 10.1 percent less. Out of the total number of employees, 41.1 percent are female and 58.9 percent are male.
41.2 percent of total number of employees comes on large, 22.8 percent – on medium and 36.0 percent - on small businesses.
The total number of employed persons amounted 609.0 thousands (year-on-year 9.6 percent less). The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled to 2 637.8 million GEL (year-on-year 8.9 percent less).
In the IV quarter of 2020, average monthly remuneration of employed persons equaled to 1 417.0 GEL (year-on-year increase by 12.2 GEL) while remuneration of employed women made up 1 070.1 GEL (year-on-year increase by 21.8 GEL). Average monthly remuneration of employed persons by size of enterprises is as follows:

⦁ MEDIUM BUSINESS – 1 632.6 GEL
⦁ SMALL BUSINESS – 1 228.4 GEL
