Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia meet the IMF Mission Chief in Tbilisi. The Review Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has thus commenced its work in the country.
IMF Mission is led by James John, MCD Mission Chief who already held the first meeting with H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia. Parties discussed the economic stance of the country, as well as economic parameters and projections for 2023.
MF Review Mission in Tbilisi was preceded by the Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Washington D.C., Georgian authorities held negotiations at the IMF and World Bank headquarters.
As noted during the meeting, the economy of Georgia continues to grow at high speed irrespective of current challenges witnessed worldwide. At the same time, the significance of continued and prudent macroeconomic policy was highlighted at the meeting.
Discussion touched upon the performance of reforms envisaged in the IMF program and adherence to IMF recommendations towards this end.
